Miracle is an American feature film directed by Gavin O'Connor. It was released in 2004 and stars Kurt Russell as Herb Brooks.


After Herb Brooks gets the job of Head Coach of the 1980 U.S. Olympic team, he immediately begins working his team, forcing them to push themselves to be the best.

The team has a few disappointing exhibition games leading up to the Olympics, but they better themselves to defeat the Soviet Union Olympic team in a qualifying round and eventually advance and win the gold medal.


The hockey players in the film went through six weeks of training to relearn how to play the game while wearing older equipment.

A soundtrack was released for the film on February 10, 2004. It did not include "Dream On" by Aerosmith, which was played during the film's end credits. The track list for the soundtrack is as follows:

Miracle was released in theaters nation-wide in the United States on February 6, 2004. It was released on VHS and DVD on May 18 of that year and on Blu-ray June 16, 2009. The Blu-ray/DVD combo pack was released on March 29, 2011.


The film was well-received by critics and movie-goers and had positive reviews.
